  8. The whole CD is completely menu driven and unzipped.  It is so 
  9. easy to use that anyone with one finger can run this CD.

  11. Over 90% of the programs on this CD requires VGA graphics support
  12. and is graphics intensive.  
  13.  
  14. Most of the programs will run directly from this CD, saving you
  15. valuable hard disk space.  
  16.  
  17. You can print out this installation file by pressing "P".  Make sure
  18. your printer is turned "ON".
  19.  
  20. The whole CD has been scanned by McAfee's virus detection software
  21. and no virus are found.

  24. WHAT'S NEW WITH FIVE STAR GAMES FOR DOS VERSION 2?
  25. FIVE STAR GAMES becomes one of the top-selling shareware games within
  26. two months.  We do this updated edition three months after it was
  27. first released.
  28.  
  29. There are no difference in contents except that a few bugs are 
  30. fixed and games that cannot run from CD are deleted from the menu.
  31. You can copy those games into your hard disk and run from there.
  32.  
  33. The major difference is in the menu system.  In version 1 we use 
  34. POWERMENU. Now we use our own menu which does not require registration 
  35. fee, but are copyrighted by READY TO RUN CD-ROM, INC.

  53.                            INSTALLATION
  54. ====================================================================

  56. It would be helpful if you also put the "MENU" subdirectory
  57. into the PATH statement.
  58.  
  59. NO INSTALLATION IS NEEDED if you are happy with the default settings
  60. of the MENU.  
  61.  
  62. 1.  Assuming the FIVE STAR CD is put inside the CD-ROM and you
  63. log into the CD-ROM ( for example, if "E" is your CD-ROM), 
  64. type "START" and then <ENTER> key
  65.     E>START      <enter>
  66.  
  67. You will see the "FIVE STAR GAMES FOR DOS" menu, simply move
  68. cursor bar with up and down arrow keys or use your mouse. Hit 
  69. <ENTER> or click your mouse on the item that you want to run.
  70.  
  71.  
  72. Some games write to the disk when updating the configuration file
  73. or top score file.  This will cause a disk error because CDROM is
  74. a READ-ONLY device.  This error will NOT damage your system.  It's
  75. OK as long as you don't care recording down your high scores.
  76. If otherwise, you may copy the game to your hard disk and run it 
  77. from there.
  78.  
  79. Graphics and sound intensive games requires LOTS of memory. Some
  80. of the big games here requires 560K plus memory to run.  Please
  81. use MEMMAKER (MS-DOS 6.x), or RAMBOOST (IBM DOS 6.1), or QEMM
  82. to optimized your system memory setting.

  89. PKZIP FILE COMPRESSION AND DECOMPRESSION UTILITY (PKZIP)
  90. PKZIP is included in this CD for your convenience.  You can compress
  91. any game for electronic transmisson or copying to diskettes with
  92. PKZIP.

  95. ELFTREE HARD DISK MANAGEMENT UTILITY (ELFTREE)
  96. This niftly utility helps you view any text file and manipulate
  97. file transfer between drives.  Please copy the whole subdirectory
  98. to your hard disk for smoother operation.  ELFTREE creates an index
  99. file for high speed sorting, which would create "error opening file"
  100. if you run it from the CD.  You may ignore the error message and
  101. continue the program.

  104. DIRECTORY COMMANDER FILE MANAGEMENT UTILITY (DCOM)
  105. This is another great hard disk management utility.  It differs
  106. from ELFTREE in not creating an index for searching and sorting.
